Day 1 : AIRPORT – PINNAWALA – KANDY

Meeting and assistance upon your arrival at BIA and visit Pinnawala
Elephant Orphanage (the entrance fee is mentioned below). The
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is one of Sri Lanka’s most popular tourist
attractions. The orphanage’s population has increased, making it the
world’s largest collection of captive elephants. The elephants here
range in age from newborns to elderly matriarchs, and include orphaned
and abandoned elephants, as well as those injured in the wild.
You will visit a spice garden to learn about herbs and spices in Sri Lanka
where you can also enjoy a complimentary head massage and a cup of
spiced tea.
Arrive in Kandy and check in the hotel.

Day 2 : KANDY

After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kandy (the entrance fees
are mentioned below) which is a UNESCO world heritage site. The
historic city about 480m above sea level surrounded by mountains was
known to Sri Lankan as Kanda Uda Rata, which means the hill country.
Kandy was home to Sri Lanka’s last independent Kingdom, which
survived two centuries of colonial incursion before finally falling to the
British at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Visit the temple of
the Tooth Relic, Peradeniya Botanical Garden and Peradeniya University
and catch a panoramic view of the picturesque town from Upper Lake
Drive. Kandy is also famous for shopping and you will have the
opportunity of browsing to your heart’s content.
You will be able to witness the Kandyan cultural dance show in the
evening which has a spectacular firewalking finale.

Day 3 : KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA

After breakfast, you will head over to Nuwara Eliya and en route stop
over to visit Bhakta Hanuman Temple after that you will also stop over
at Ramboda Falls View Point. Moving further, visit a tea factory to learn
about processing tea and indulge in the essence of world-famous Ceylon
tea.
Enjoy sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya (the entrance fees are mentioned
below). Nuwara Eliya meaning “the city of dawn” is the town at the

highest elevation (about 2000m above sea level) in Sri Lanka and its
tallest peak, Piduruthalagala (2555m) could be seen from here. The city
established by the British in the nineteenth century, and known as
“Little England” and is a popular holiday resort for Sri Lankans & tourists
due to its cool climate and quaint colonial feel with its little bungalows
surrounded by hedgerows. Visit Seetha Amman Temple, it is said to be
built at the spot where Ravana held Sitha captive, as related in the
Ramayana. The small temple has a collection of statues, including a
couple of Kali images. You can also visit Hakgala Botanical Garden. Later
visit Gregory Lake, one can enjoy some water sports here on own
expenses. Spend your evening visiting Victoria Park and nearby alleys.

Day 4 : NUWARA ELIYA – BENTOTA

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and you will visit a strawberry
farm in Nuwara Eliya before leaving for Bentota. En route we stop over
at St. Clair’s Falls View Point and Devon Falls View Point which are
scenic photo stops overlooking waterfalls & tea gardens.
You will reach Kitulgala where you can do many water sports and other
activities such as white-water rafting, stream sliding, tracking, bathing
in natural pools and water fall abseiling.
Later continue your journey to Bentota and arrive at the hotel.
Leisure at the hotel and on the beach.
Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5 : BENTOTA – GALLE – BENTOTA
After breakfast, you will leave the hotel.
You can try water sports in Bentota. You can visit a turtle hatchery and
you can also enjoy a Madu River boat safari. Traditional masks are an
icon of the Sri Lankan culture and a famous mask museum is located in
Ambalangoda that you will visit.
Later you will arrive in Hikkaduwa. Hikkaduwa is one of the most
popular of the beach centers in the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka.
Hikkaduwa is blessed with natural attractions of wide and sun kissed
beaches, magnificent coral gardens populated with turtles and exotic
fish where best snorkeling and scuba diving facilities, glass bottom boat
rides, etc. (the supplement costs of the activities are mentioned
below).

Arrive in Galle and visit sites in Galle (the entrance fees are mentioned
below). The old part of the city within the Dutch Fort built in the 17th
century has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. A walk on
the ramparts from Point Utrecht bastion to Flag Rock bastion will give
you an excellent view of the ancient harbor which was known as Tar
shish in the Bible. We will pass the District Court and the original
entrance to the Fort enroute to the Dutch Reformed Church built in the
17th century. The New Town to the north of the Fort was badly affected
by the tsunami in 2004 and is the home of the famous international
cricket stadium which has been re-built.
You will come back to the hotel.

Day 6 : BENTOTA – COLOMBO – AIRPORT

After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel.
You will head over to Colombo and enjoy a city tour of Colombo (the
entrance fees are mentioned below) which is the largest city and
former administrative capital of Sri Lanka and is a busy and vibrant
city with a mixture of modern life and remnants of a bygone colonial

era. Due to its large harbor and its strategic position along the East-
West Sea trade routes, Colombo was known to ancient traders 2,000

years ago. However, it was only made the Capital of the island when
Sri Lanka was ceded to the British Empire in 1815. The main city is
home to a majority of Sri Lanka’s corporate offices, restaurants and
entertainment venues. On this tour you will visit many of the
historical, religious and commercial sites of Colombo.
You will be transferred to BIA for your return flight.
